Tempcon’s subsidiary Syd Frys is expanding its facility in Hyllinge by 6 378 square meters. The expansion will double the area and increase the storage capacity from 16 000 to 36 000 pallets.
The expansion is part of Syd Fry’s investment in meeting the increasing demand for storage of frozen products. The new facility will be located southwest of the existing one and will focus on warehouse space.
Work on the large extension will start immediately and it is planned to be ready for occupancy at the beginning of 2025. Peab is responsible for the work on behalf of the property owner, Swedish Logistic Property, SLP, in collaboration with Tempcon.
– We are happy to be able to invest in Syd Frys and thereby strengthen our position as a leading player in the handling and storage of frozen products, says Christian Hallberg, CEO of Tempcon Group. The expansion is an important step for us to meet the increasing demand for frozen products and to contribute to a more sustainable logistics chain.
– As property owners, we at SLP are very happy to be able to grow with our existing tenants, says Tommy Åstrand, CEO at SLP. We have other subsidiaries within Tempcon as tenants already today. We see that as proof of a good collaboration. It is an important part of our strategy to be a long-term and stable partner to our tenants and to be able to develop our operations together.
Through the expansion, Syd Frys will also focus operations on the facilities in Hyllinge and Mörarp. This will provide more efficient work flows and an increased service towards customers. Office and staff spaces will also be reviewed to update these and supplement with another changing room.
In line with Tempcon’s work on environmental issues, the roof of the entire new building will be covered with solar panels. This will reduce future operating costs and contribute to a reduced impact on the environment.
Syd Frys is a leading player in the handling and storage of frozen products and customer-optimized ancillary services such as picking, order handling, customs handling, etc. The expansion in Hyllinge is a clear example of the company’s ambitions to continue growing and meet the increasing demand for frozen products.
