Tempcon Group continues to invest in the future. Last week, on October 23rd, the Group’s subsidiary Syd Frys inaugurated its new cold storage facility in Hyllinge. This represents one of the largest investments in Tempcon’s warehousing operations to date.
The expansion more than doubles the facility’s capacity, increasing from the previous 16,000 pallet spaces, and is partially powered by one of the region’s largest solar panel installations.
The background to the investment is a sharply increased demand for the Group’s frozen storage services, while efficiency and sustainability remain key elements of the company’s strategy.
Fia Andersson, Project Manager at Tempcon Group, has led the expansion project.
“The new warehouse allows us to consolidate three previous storage facilities into one modern, energy-efficient central warehouse in Hyllinge,” says Fia Andersson, Project Manager at Tempcon Group.
Certified According to Miljöbyggnad Silver
The facility is equipped with mobile racking systems to maximize space usage, and the roof is covered with solar panels expected to generate 499 kW. The building is also certified according to Miljöbyggnad Silver, which aligns well with Tempcon’s long-term sustainability goals.
“This is a step in the right direction to reduce our climate impact and future-proof our logistics solutions. The investment strengthens our operational capacity and is a key enabler for continued growth,” says Christian Hallberg, CEO of Tempcon Group.
The facility became operational on April 23rd and has now been officially inaugurated. The inauguration marks an important milestone in Tempcon’s development. The new facility is a concrete example of how Tempcon meets increasing customer demands while translating its sustainability ambitions into action.
